quote Overall, the food was quite nice except for the XO radish cake and yam puff. The XO radish cake was a bit too soft inside that it felt abit watery, it would be nice if it was a little firmer. Maybe it was abit off due to high volume of customers on a public holiday. The flavour also wasn’t really to my liking. The yam puff just personally wasn’t my kind of dish. On the brighter side, my friend who usually never eats porridge said the congee was “honestly kinda nice,” which says a lot! I forgot the exact names of a few dishes, but the pictures are in order according to the ratings below. (All ratings are based on personal preference.) Pork and century egg porridge - 8/10 XO raddish cake - 5/10 Little canton’s special fried rice - 7/10 虾饺steam Prawn dumpling - 7.5/10 烧卖prawn and pork siu Mai, dimsum- 8/10 Yam Puff - 6/10 Chinese Doughnut rice roll - 7/10 Shrimp rice roll - 7/10 Fried shrimp (forgot the exact name) - 7.5:10 Fried dumpling (forgot the exact name) - 8/10 Durian puff - 6.5/10 Salt and pepper squid tentacles - 7/10 (no picture) Salted egg lava bun - didn’t get to try, sold out 😢 Portuguese tart- didn’t get to try, sold out 😢 A mate mentioned their dinner menu was also really nice, so I’d come back to try that next time. (Also the dimsum and hopefully get the salted egg lava buns too) Overall, I liked the place. It has good vibes and atmosphere, and is quite a solid spot for dim sum.

quote Came into Little Canton for dinner with my family (visiting from WA) after hearing they have moved to a new location right across the road from The Highway. We ordered the following dishes: black pepper fillet steak, steamed fresh Murray cod, salt and pepper pork hock, 1/2 roast duck, stir fry prawns with chinese brocolli and a special order of free range Emperor chicken. All the dishes were seasoned well, came out in reasonable time (it was a busy periods during dinner so we did wait but it was worth it!) and very tasty. The portions were a generous serving as well. We will definitely return. Black pepper fillet steak: tender melt in your mouth meat with a moreish savoury flavour. Steamed whole Murray cod: sweet and delicate white fish meat caught straight from the tank. The light and mellow Ginger and soy sauce doesn't overpower the flavour of the fish. Salt and pepper Pork hock: fried to perfection but not dry. Flavoured just right so it doesn't make you want to reach for a glass of water everytime you take a bite. Imperial free range chicken with Ginger and shallot oil: juicy and succulent chicken. It's addictive by itself or dipped in the ginger and shallot oil. Prawns with chinese brocolli: garlicky with a mild Savoury sauce. Compliments the other dishes and fluffy white jasmine rice.

quote Three of us went there for lunch for the first time as it was recommended to us and was absolutely the best Chinese food we have had for 20 years +. When we lived on the other side of town, we used to go to the Prince Room on lower North east Road. The food there was always amazing, the menu extensive and this was equally as good. Truly delicious food and the best fried rice I think I’ve ever had, so thank you so much. We ordered a lot more that we could eat because I wanted to try several things & knew I would be able to take whatever was left home with us, so the photo is of what we took home and no doubt doesn’t do it justice. The portions were generous, the staff lovely and it got a huge tick from all of us. Definite 5 out of 5 and would absolutely recommend everyone to try it.

quote Very impressed with Little Canton’s new space, modern, clean, and a lovely upgrade. The food was delicious and noticeably less oily than your typical yum cha, which we really appreciated. Everything we tried was fresh and well-prepared. It came out quick as well! Unfortunately, the service left a bit to be desired. We had to ask twice for water, were told halfway through our meal that the piggy buns we ordered weren’t available, and a few wrong dishes were sent to our table. + points for their own parking area with plenty of parking too! Despite the service hiccups, the quality of the food alone makes it worth returning. With a little more attention to front-of-house, this place could be exceptional.

quote Gone upmarket from its old home. Decent dim sum. The mango pudding is no recommended. Too much milk; doesn't look appetising either. The squid is tasty but a little over cooked as it was quite rubbery.
